Who we are

The Novo Futuro Association is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, recognized as of Superior Social Interest, which was founded in Portugal in 1996.  This Association’s purpose is to welcome and support Children and Young People deprived of a family atmosphere.

Our Origin

Novo Futuro has the principles set on the Convention on the Rights of the Child as its guidelines, it acts according to the Children and Young People at Risk Protection law and adopts the spirit of the Asociación Nuevo Futuro, founded in Spain more than 30 years ago and highly sponsored by Infanta Pilar (King Juan Carlos’ sister).

Over the years, Nuevo Futuro has spread its philosophy among other countries.  In Portugal since 1996, by Maria de Jesus Barroso.


The activities of each home are always oriented to the achievement of objectives in mind providing what is best for the development of each boy as health, food, schooling, vocational training, employment, vacation, leisure, culture.
