FOUNDATION OF ARDINA (IPSS) The Association of Protection of the Ardinas, currently assigned for Foundation Workmanship of the Ardina, appeared in 1942, due one the deep necessities of the Ardinas that proclaimed periodicals in the streets of Lisbon, which if had essentially the low social, economical and cultural conditions evidenced by these young. Collated with this reality, the Moreira Priest organizes activities, as courses of learning the language, colonies of vacation and lunches/conviviality’s offered for the Feminine Portuguese Youth, with the goal of allowing a personal and social valuation, and providing a steady and balanced professional future. |

SOCIAL CENTER OF MUSGUEIRA (IPSS) The Social Center of the Musgueira had its geneses in 1963, when a group of many volunteers stimulated by Jose Manuel of Rocha and Melo s.j decides “to lie down hands to the workmanship” and to support the population of what it would come to be the Quarter of the Musgueira North, more did not stop to conquer sympathetically and friends, known people and anonymous, that they have kept of foot an ideal and over all, have become it reality. |

Meninos de Oiro This Association was established with the aim of protecting the superior rights of the Child, intervening at all levels to fill in the needs that harm the Children the most – protecting them against anything that in some way may put in danger their harmonious and healthy growth (implying by “health” what it’s said in the World Health Organization’s Preface: “State of complete physical, mental and social welfare and not only the lack of illness or disease”). |

CrescerSER The CrescerSer, Portuguese Association for the Rights of Children and Families (APDMF) is an Institution for Social Solidarity and its main objectives is to undertake interdisciplinary study of issues relating to legal and administrative protection of minors and their families, to promote, encourage and organize community support services to children, young people and the family society, and its nationwide; boost training in the area of child protection and youth at risk, along with technicians who perform their duties or in the Committees for the Protection, both in equipment for this social problem. |

Association Resgate Association Resgate was founded in 1923 by Father John of the Holy Trinity to take care for unprotected children and adolescents living in morally inadequate conditions. The Count of Agrolongo and the Countess of Cuba left the Association, in legacy, land in Lisbon and Porto Salvo on which the Instituto Condessa de Cuba was built in the 1970’s. |

APPDCDM – QUINTA DOS INGLESINHOS From the efforts of Sheila Stilwell, mother of a child with Down's syndrome and Alice Tavares de Melo, child psychiatry, this Association was born on 2 February 1962 under the name of the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of the mongoloid child. With the accession to the International League of Societies for the Mentally Handicapped, was necessary to change the name to the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of Children with mental disabilities, now known as the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Retarded Citizens (APPACDM). |
