WHAT IS IT?

The face of the contemporaries societies has changing significantly in recent years. Because of the population aging and the impact of the increasing migratory flows, we struggle ourselves today with important demographic challenges. The questions of the exclusion and the social differences, also know new contours, conditional for the disordered growth of the urban territories and for the new forms of poverty it associates. It is in the direction to increase the social equality, provoked for this set of emergent problems, that the Foundation Calouste Gulbenkian intervene through its Gulbenkian Program of Human Development.

Since its creation, in January of 2009, it has executed a vast program of activities, in the accompaniment source and innovative evaluation of pilot project, also in the attribution of subsidies and accompaniment of its execution, still wants in the accomplishment and coordination of some direct activities, appointed the accomplishment of meeting and seminaries in areas associates to the priorities of the Program.

The PGDH happens specifically on five area-key:
- Urban Communities;
- Children and Young at risk;
- Migratory;
- Aged;
- Social Innovation (qualification, innovation and civic participation).
