Maria de Lurdes Borges de Castro

Been born January, the 21, of 1923, Maria de Lourdes Borges de Castro, partner n.º 6 of the Sporting Club of Portugal (the woman with more years of partner), was old athlete and current colonist of the Sporting Journal.

Her form of being and living gives all the joy of the longevity and the respect of a great person.

Known for being a woman of firm certainties, the age has not removed it any intervention in the Sporting CP club, since it does not lack to no meeting of the Leonine Advice.

Talking with the friends, the poetry and the Internet are some of her other passions.

It is an example of force and living.

It did not accept the assignment of ambassadress of the Foundation due to the fact of being a too much pompous name for its age, but it did not leave to accept to be one of the faces of the Foundation.

Born in Lisbon, January, the 20th of 1946 and partner since day 16 of following March. Son of one old athlete of the Sporting, champion of handball for the Club, since always remembers the Sporting to have be part of its life.

She made economy as formation base and marketing as specialization. In this area she always worked in great national companies and international as the Portucel, the Price Waterhouse etc. Commercial Director and as later responsible for the modalities was consulting of the PNUD in Africa until being invited to integrate the boards of the Sporting CP.

She was in the Sporting CP until July of 2006. She was Vice-president of the Lions of Portugal.

Manuel Pedro Gomes

It was born in Torres Novas, October, the 16th of 1941.

Although it was capable to play of the two sides, Pedro Gomes was almost always prohibited right, and although not to be very high, he was a strong, good player physically in the marking and very disciplined tactically.

Started in Sporting CP, where made his all soccer career, in day 13 of December of 1961, in a game to count for the Goblet of Portugal, that the Sporting earned for 5-1 to the Cova da Piedade.
From there up to 1973 had been twelve seasons followed of Lion to the chest, that had become it in 8º player with more games carried through for the Sporting CP, with a total of 516 departures, between officers, particular and of the formation.
In this period it was two times Champion National, it gained three Goblets of Portugal and it was part of equips that it won the Goblet of the Winners of the Goblets in 1964.
For the National Soccer Team it made 9 games, having itself started in the 31 of May of 1964 in a particular game against Argentina, disputed in Rio De Janeiro.

Finished its career of soccer player it initiated a long passage as trainer, starting soon for guiding you equip of 1ª Division or with ambitions to go up to the main step of the Portuguese soccer, entering two headings of National Champion of 2ª Division, the first one of which to the service of the Marine who led for the first time to the elite of our soccer, and as with the Uniao Leiria.

In 1984, returned to the Sporting CP as aid of John Toshack and in May of 1985, assumed the role of principal coach of the team.

Ricardo Manuel da Silva Sá Pinto, been born in the city of Port in October, the 10th of 1972.

He was the player most charismatic of the Sporting Club of Portugal, and as such is nicknamed in the Sporting Club of Portugal family “Ricardo Heart of Lion” in such a way for its delivery to the game as for its charisma temperament.

He started his career of professional in 1992/93 in Sport Comércio e Salgueiros and Sporting Club of Portugal, in the end of the following season time, was bought him.

In 1997 moved to the Real Sociedade of Spain where it remained until season 1999/00 when returned to Sporting CP. In his achieves, beyond 50 goals marked in 1ª Portuguese Soccer division, wined two Goblets of Portugal and a National Championship. Ricardo Sá Pinto was also player of the national soccer team and counted on varies participation in Championships of the Europe and the World.
